Justin Morneau hit a leadoff homer in the 10th inning and the Minnesota Twins, after rallying for five runs in the ninth, beat Kansas City 9-8 Wednesday night to stun the reeling Royals with their 10th straight loss.
Joel Peralta (0-2) gave up the tying three-run homer to pinch hitter Craig Monroe with two out in the ninth, then watched Morneau hit his first pitch of the 10th over the fence in right field.
Jesse Crain (3-2) got the final out in the ninth for the win.
