Royals interested in signing Japanese free agent Kuroda
The Kansas City Royals are interested in Japanese pitcher Hiroki Kuroda, who also is being sought by the Seattle Mariners.
New Kansas City manager Trey Hillman, who spent five seasons in Japan managing the Nippon Ham Fighters, said he’d like to see Japan’s top free agent pitcher in a Royals uniform next season.

Torii Hunter will give Los Angeles Angels new options, protection for Guerrero (AP)
Vladimir Guerrero finally will have some protection in the batting order. The Los Angeles Angels, who have been trying to land another strong hitter for several years, agreed to a five-year, $90 million deal Wednesday with free agent Torii Hunter, who hit .297 with 28 homers and drove in 107 runs for Minnesota this year.
