Right-hander Scott Elarton was activated from the 15-day disabled list by the Kansas City Royals to start Tuesday night’s game against the New York Yankees. Elarton had missed 26 games with a sprained right foot. He also sat out the first 36 games this season and the last 71 games with Cleveland in 2006 after shoulder surgery.
