Shane Costa and Esteban German drove in two runs apiece, leading Kansas City past the Chicago White Sox 8-1 Friday night and giving the Royals their first five-game winning streak in two years.
Brian Bannister (5-4) went six strong innings, giving up only one run on four hits and winning for the fifth time this month. Zack Greinke held the White Sox to one hit in the last 2 2-3 innings to earn the first save of his three-year major league career.
